Eco-empathy: a photographic exploration of solastalgia is a photographic series that reflects on the felt response to human-induced climate change. Solastalgia, also known as eco-anxiety, is the driving force of this project which uses photography to explore complex emotions and mental health concerns related to the climate crisis.  I employ mirrors to create a configuration of real and surreal elements to reflect the fragile emotional relationship between the human individual and the environment. The images explore the relevance of human connection with nature for developing empathy and hopefully inspiring ecological activism.
